You have my sympathy and my thanks for your web site. Thousands of people have been screwed by the Grundhofers and
untold lives destroyed by them. I would like you to see our Horror story and what actions we are taking against Firstar-US Bank. Kudos to you for starting a much needed web site!

Our house was burglarized while my husband and I were on vacation. The thieves took the check book for one of our U.S.
Bank accounts. They then waltzed into a nearby U.S. Bank branch, made out a check for almost the whole account balance and forged my signature. No one at the bank gave it a second thought. They didn't question the transaction, ask for identification, or check the signature. Just handed over the cash. We had to hire a lawyer and sue U.S. Bank to recover most of our money, and they fought us the whole way. Saying U.S. Bank is incompetent, or doesn't give a damn about its customers is the understatement of the century.

I've always seen banks as dependable and honest; I'm shocked to know that you went through that kind of experience with
a bank! I hope you continue to maintain this website, because I think it's well-worth it to let people know that there are actually banks like US Bank in existence.

Here's my US Bank nightmare story. Someone stole my identity a while back and has been using bogus credentials in
my name to pass bad checks. They went into a local branch of US Bank, made out a phony check for more than $800, signed my name and used the phoney ID to cash it. When the check bounced, US Bank came looking for me. I convinced them that I wasn't involved, and asked them to file a complaint with the local police so that we could stop this asshole. Know what the bank said? The amount involved wasn't enough for them to pursue criminal action. They've got this guy's fingerprint, his picture on security tape, and they can't be bothered to help stop him from making someone else a victim. What a PISS POOR, almost criminal attitude. Believe me, I'm glad I don't do any business with this bank!

ed. note: This information relates to my experience of someone associated with USBank using information from our Credit
Line application to create a fraudulent Yahoo! profile, and to post to a message board under my name. For more, click on:
The application you filled out in 1998 (where you assume/know the bogus yahoo account information came from) is kept in
a relatively loose system. As a $14,000 a year file clerk, I had access to it. And most employees had access to a mainframe application called "fn01" which allowed them to order that document directly from the filenet server. They had the option to get it either faxed directly to them with absolutly no human intervention, or have a file clerk print it and mail it via interoffice mail. Anyone working in the "executive communication" department (this is where your letters to Jack Grundhofer wound up) should have been able to view this document directly. You are absolutly right about the merger-related system conversion problems going on at that time. Bancsource couldn't handle the volume of retail loans, so we were backtracking to Shaw. Suddenly the old Met Fed employees that hadn't been axed were training us on a system they hadn't touched since 1995. Shaw had gone thru a few updates by this time. but all the add-ons were not purchased (to save a few bucks). Hogan and Shaw also didn't seem to be exchanging information as expected either. But the system had already gone live. Good luck with your struggles. BTW, I was laid off 5-31-01

[ed. note: This information is in reference to an unlawful termination lawsuit filed by an employee in Portland, Oregon]
Employee in Portland, Oregon, accused of theft, was kept in a locked room during interrogation by company investigators,
refused access to bathroom, and then terminated. Policies in employee handbook not followed during investigation or termination. Result was a confidential settlement as the result of informal, pre-filing demand and negotiations.

I'm a former Mercantile/Firstar/USBank employee and I am have a hard time getting my 401 K out of there. Any advice? I
have a Stock Certificate from Firstar and I sent it in to get it reissued as US Bank stock. Fortunately I sent it certified mail and made copies of everything I sent. They have lost it, and three investigations down the road, they are still not able to find it and keep asking me for copies of the receipt. Which I have sent twice and will be sending again today. Any advice any one has would be greatly appreciated.

I've got a US Bank story to tell. I also registered the www.usbanksucks.com domain and am building a web site as we speak.
It will take 24 hours for the site to be up but here's a link to what I have so far. I stole a couple wording things for you so let me know if that's a problem. Here's what I've got so far: http://www.usbanksucks.com

Well, I'd love top share my story with you and let you post it on your site. I'll write it up for you and send you the full version as soon
as I finally get my accounts all closed with them. Funny how they make it hard to close accounts, it should be so easy to get your own money and walk away from them, but they don't make it easy. Love your site, hate US BANK!

Hi, Thank you for your response. These people will be caught. I have not worked for the bank since 12/17/02. I
was forced to resign when US Bank would not pay me disability when they reduced my eyesight dramatically due to laying carpet using glue with hydrocarbons in it. The emergency room doctor even said to avoid reexposure to the glue. Thank you,
S.

Yes, you have my permission to use my story and I will get this web site out to friends and relatives. I personally
think people are way too passive about poor customer service, so kudos to you for putting this site together and good luck with it.

Here is a transcript that is part of a 10th Circuit Appeals Case. I am the corporate counsel for Medical Supply
Chain Inc in Medical Supply Chain, Inc. v. US Bancorp, et al. We are expecting the court to grant our injunctive relief request to keep US Bank from using the USA PATRIOT Act against us to prevent us from competing with the hospital suppliers they have concentrated their investment banking efforts in. The act does not cover us and seems to have been just a convienient lie to commit antitrust monopolization in a market their own studies reveal lacks competition and overcharges Americans by over 23 billion dollars a year. The following transcript illustrates the difficulty a legitimate business in a fiduciary relationship with US Bank can run into.

I lost my ATM Visa Card after being with US Bank for 8 years. They refused to issue a new ATM Visa debit card
because of my credit record, even though I never bounced a check, so I left them.
In May of 2003, my friend refinanced a 2nd mortgage, and they fucked up just about every way they could from
incompetent branch managers and incorrect payoffs and undone payoffs, they suck, they suck, they suck. Did I forget to mention they suck.

I called up a US Bank branch that had an IRA account in a CD for me. They had bought my bank years ago and
because of laziness I just left it there. Now I want rid of them. When I called to redeem it they gave me all kind of run around. Finally they sent an application form to fill out. They showed the amount after penalty and a $25 "administration" fee. I just crossed out the $25 and put in zero. When I finally got the funds they did not deduct the $25. I don't know if I confused them or if they had no legal basis to withhold the $25 but I did have a good laugh. Anyone is crazy to bank with a large nationwide bank. Find a small local bank and if they merge move your account. These large banks only survive because of apathy. One of my new resolutions is that I will not do business with someone whose goal is to trick me. I want to do business with people who want me to derive a benefit from their service, not someone who wishes to deceive me. US Bank is not the only company in that category but they are among the worst.

US Bank Sucks... The only reason I ever banked with them in the first place is because I had a friend that was
employed by them as a Loan Officer. She quit and moved out of State. Anyway, last May my car was broken in to and all my account information from US Bank was stolen. So, I went in and had to close all of my accounts with them and re-open new ones. Not too tough, right? Along with my accounts I also had a balance on a credit line that I had opened in addition to one of my accounts. I was told that I had to re-apply for the credit line. So I did, thinking that if I had one before there is no reason for me to be denied one now (I have flawless credit). I kept in touch with the US Bank and kept asking about the status of my credit application. They kept saying its being reviewed, blah blah blah. WELL...after being reviewed for ohh, a good month, I finally go in to the bank and ask where the hell my application went and why no one would call me back. The banker whom I dealt with ! was a real snot and told me that "oops, we didn't have your right phone number and now, the application has been lost because we couldn't contact you" (which was a lie because she had called me on my correct phone number before). So when I tried talking to the manager, she just pawned me off on some other banker who made me fill out the application again. Because this had gone on for so long, I was denied my line of credit. I got a letter in the mail, and when I called the second banker back for an explanation, he wouldn't return any of my phone calls and ignored any messages that I left for him.
In addition to this, I had to deal with them in regards to my checks that were stolen. Apparently, there are several
levels of "account closing" that I didn't know about. Right now my old account is..."acknowledged as closed" but not fully closed. What? What is that supposed to mean? My account information gets stolen and you can't close it so those little punks can't screw ! with my credit? I could go on and on about this bank as this is not the only instance of "5 Star Screwing". Anyway, love your site. Lets screw US Bank like they've royally screwed all of us.

We caught USBank trying to swindle a 74 year old woman out of her house. Unfortunately for them, we had all the
reciepts to prove they were wrong. Also US Bank is in kahoots with the State of Iowa child support recovery department by making it manditory to have a US Bank debit card account.

Thank you so much for this site. I've been screwed by US Bank for years and stayed with it just because I have a
line of credit from a bank they've purchased with terms and I can't replace. Yesterday US Bank "security" called and raged at me that they are closing my accounts because of untrue and unspecified allegations of racial slurs and unwanted advances to a teller. As a chaplain, I take these things very seriously. I am very reassured from your site that they are simply a rotted institution that we do need to unite against as a public interest project.

Kudos on such a well-done job. Glad to see that someone has the courage to stand up to the Grundbutt Bros. and expose
US Bank for the ratty operation it really is. It is important that consumers get to see the truth about US Bank before they put any of their money at risk. The so-called Five Star Service Guarantee is just an empty marketing ploy. The Greedhofers have always considered customer service to be expendable, and have a history of doing whatever it takes to increase profits and hence, the amount of money flowing into their own pockets. Keep on exposing these skunks !! There's a reason its called U-Suck Bank !
